This Rosslyn-based manufacturer of durable plastic consumer products followed a structured approach to energy. An electricity check meter was installed in order to verify council billing and develop insight to electricity consumption. Three initial energy efficiency projects were implemented. A power factor unit was installed to bring the power factor in line with regulatory requirements and reduce kVA demand costs.
This was followed by a project to reduce water heating costs as well as a lighting exchange project where old technology was replaced with LED technology. An optimally sized solar PV plant was recently added to the energy mix to reduce long-term energy costs and contribute to cost savings. This is also a first step towards energy independence.
