The stability of the utility supply voltage to customers is critical to the safety and efficient operation of electrical equipment and is largely impacted by the load conditions and state of the electrical network. Significant voltage unbalance as well as large swings in supply voltages are becoming more common on the South African utility networks causing severe damage to sensitive equipment and ill afforded downtime in production. We measure the supply voltage conditions where required and determine the correct voltage stabilising solution to manage the voltage instability, and to protect the equipment while minimising downtime related to unstable supply voltages.
