In large industrial installations it could, at times, make commercial sense to measure the volume of air flow. These measurements are available as a live data feed. When air flow metered data is used with metered electricity it is easy to calculate the cost of the compressed air as well as the energy consumed to provide compressed air. Efficiency and cost-saving opportunities can then be quantified and implemented.
